Russia’s KamAZ is threatened by a 40% reduction in production, and up to 15,000 employees may be idle due to a shortage of components.
This was stated by Tatarstan President Rustam Minikhanov, speaking at a meeting with Russian President Putin, Interfax reports .
“And about 15 thousand workers of the plant will be forced to go into idle mode to resolve the issue of supply of components,” said the President of Tatarstan.
He acknowledged that Russian carmakers are suffering severely from sanctions and asked for federal support in resolving the issue.
