Russia’s envoy to the UN Vasily Nebenzya has publicly called the war in Donbas a political conflict between Russia and Ukraine rather than a domestic conflict in Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG).
The delegation said this in a statement on its Facebook page following yesterday’s “event” organized by Russian representatives in the UN Security Council so as to legitimize representatives of certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions (ORDLO).
“Nebenzya stated about the ‘conflict in Donbas’: it is not a domestic conflict in Ukraine, it is a political conflict between Russia and Ukraine,” the Ukrainian delegation quoted Nebenzya as saying.
The delegation called this statement by Russia’s representative to the UN “the most interesting and even sensational one.”
