Russia’s attack on Kyiv: multi-story buildings are burning, casualties are rising (photos, video)

This morning, Russians launched a massive attack on Kyiv. The strikes resulted in hits and landings on multi-story buildings in many districts. Buildings are on fire, and the number of casualties is growing.

Updated 10:25 AM. Twenty-two people have already been injured, including two children. Twelve of the injured have been hospitalized. The capital is also experiencing heat and power outages.

Updated 9:54 a.m. The number of victims in the capital has risen to 19, with 11 people hospitalized, Vitali Klitschko reported .

According to Kyiv police , the ages of the victims ranged from 36 to 75. Among them were two minors, aged 9 and 16. Police also showed photos of the aftermath of the Russian airstrikes in the capital.

A Russian drone also hit a dormitory at the National Aviation University. Video of the landing has been published online, and NAU Rector Ksenia Semenova confirmed the hit to RBC-Ukraine .

“It hit the elevator shaft, no one was injured. It blew out some windows in the dormitory,” she clarified.

Updated November 9. As a result of the enemy attack, almost a third of the capital is now without heat. Electricity is also out in some areas of the left bank.

Updated 8:40 a.m. Vitali Klitschko reported that there are now eight injured in the capital, five of whom have been hospitalized. According to Timur Tkachenko , head of the KOVD , a 16-year-old child is among the injured.

According to the Kyiv Ministry of Emergency Situations and the State Emergency Service , as a result of the attack, consequences and damage were recorded at 8 locations in the Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Solomenskyi, Obolonskyi, Holosiivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Desnyanskyi districts.

In the Darnytskyi district, drone debris was recorded falling into a residential area. A two-story private home was damaged at another address. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko subsequently reported that several private homes were on fire in the Darnytskyi district. There was a risk of the fire spreading to a nearby nursing home. Rescuers evacuated 10 residents from the home.

Debris also struck a 24-story building in the Darnytskyi district. The top floor is on fire. Klitschko reported that the 24th and technical floors were partially destroyed. There are no injuries yet.

A fire was reported on the third floor of an 18-story building in the Dniprovskyi district. A person may be trapped under rubble on the fifth floor . Debris also struck a 25-story building. Preliminary reports indicate a fire on the first and second floors. A train depot was also hit in the Dniprovskyi district.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a fire broke out on the 10th floor of a residential building.

A fire broke out on the premises of a garage cooperative in the Desnyansky district. The first floor of a nine-story building was also damaged.

A fire in a three-story private residential building in the Obolonsky district was caused by a drone attack. The fire was detected in the roof and second floor of the building.

In the Goloseevsky district, a drone crash caused a fire in three vehicles at a service station. The fire has been extinguished.

In the Solomensky district, window panes were damaged in a multi-story residential building. In the Dniprovsky district, debris from an air strike was recorded landing on the roof of a building. The roof was damaged.

“As of 7:45 a.m., at least five people have been confirmed injured. Additional requests for medical assistance are possible,” the KOVA noted.

  1. How can Russia possibly benefit with such destruction intended and stated for genocide? I’m tired at looking for help from the West. Ukraine needs to gear for being alone as she had been for centuries, yet still lives.
