Russia’s artillery superiority decreased fivefold over past year – Ukraine’s top general

8 February, 2025

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that Russia’s artillery advantage has decreased from 10:1 to 2:1 over the past year.

He shared the information on Facebook.

“A year ago, Russian forces had approximately a 10:1 advantage in artillery munitions. Today, this ratio has shrunk to nearly 2:1,” Syrskyi reported.

He thanked partner countries for supplying ammunition and praised domestic arms manufacturers for increasing production and strengthening the front with weapons and military equipment marked Made in Ukraine.

“This was also made possible by our targeted efforts to destroy Russian artillery. Over the past year, we have eliminated around 13,050 Russian artillery systems (compared to 8,400 in the previous two years). Successful counter-battery warfare, combined with drone operations, is putting an end to Russia’s dominance on the battlefield,” the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized.

  • In 2025, signing three- and five-year contracts for arms and military equipment manufacturers should become the norm, stated Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

  1. “A year ago, Russian forces had approximately a 10:1 advantage in artillery munitions. Today, this ratio has shrunk to nearly 2:1,”

This is a significant reduction in one year’s time. Remember, lots of the remaining artillery the roaches are using are old, ex-Soviet-era pieces, which are all towed varieties, making them very vulnerable to counter-battery strikes or drone attacks.

    • If true, time for the United States to take advantage of this and ship loads of tanks and planes to Ukraine!

      • It must be true, since this isn’t the first time such a report was issued, and there are many images and videos showing the old junk in action or getting demolished.
