Russians took 1,000 Ukrainian children to Kabardino-Balkaria for “rehabilitation”, – ombudsman

The aggressor country systematically takes children thousands of kilometers from home to familiarize themselves with the “beauty” of the Russian region.

The Russian occupiers took about 1,000 Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region to Kabardino-Balkaria for “rehabilitation”. This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets .

According to his information, more than two years after the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukrainian children aged 6.5 to 16 years, “the aggressor country systematically takes thousands of kilometers from home to familiarize themselves with the “beauty” of the Russian region, which took over Kherson Oblast.”

“Most of these children have parents who, in turn, probably give permission to take the child out. However, the extent to which such a choice is free in the conditions of the occupation remains an open question,” the ombudsman writes.

He notes that Ukrainian children are forced to adopt not only the culture and traditions of the enemy state.

“A powerful resource is involved there to destroy their Ukrainian identity, which in turn is a component of the genocidal policy of the Russian Federation. Such actions grossly violate the rights of children and international norms for the protection of human rights. Ukraine continues to insist on the need to obtain access for international organizations to the International Criminal Court and bring those responsible for the violation to justice the rights of Ukrainian children to responsibility,” Lubinets informed.

The Russian invaders plan to take 750 children from the occupied Luhansk region . In particular, the children will be sent to a military camp in the Astrakhan region of Russia.

As Artem Lysohor, the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, said, usually in that camp they teach how to fly drones and raise the level of military and patriotic education.
