Russians show motorcycles protected by “grills”

Russians have started to use motorcycles with a sidecar that are protected by an anti-drone “grill.”

Russian propaganda Telegram channel published photos of the equipment.

The published photos show motorcycles with side trailers (sidecars), the internal volume of which has been expanded, and they are not equipped with seats.

Given this, it can be assumed that such motorcycles are primarily intended for logistical tasks.

Motorcycles and sidecars are protected by an anti-drone “grill” from the front, rear, top, and right projections. The left projection is not closed, most likely for faster and more convenient loading and unloading of cargo.

It is worth noting that the average maximum load of such motorcycles varies within 150 kilograms. This design significantly reduces this figure, which leads to a load on the chassis and affects the motorcycle’s stability and maneuverability.

In addition, such a design will have little effect on the likelihood of the rider’s survival, as the rider will suffer fragmentation injuries in the event of a crash.

Russian use of motorcycles in the fields of the Russian-Ukrainian war

Militarnyi recently reported that Russian infantry was training to storm positions using motorcycles.

The published footage showed Russian infantrymen riding cross-country motorcycles in pairs, arriving close to improvised trenches, hastening and launching an assault.

In real combat conditions, the success of such an assault may depend on the speed of detection, response, and the availability of effective means of destruction at the positions of the defenders.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Russians have conducted assault operations using highly mobile and fast equipment such as motorcycles or motorized vehicles.

In addition, such vehicles are used to deliver provisions, ammunition, and infantry to positions or as transport for mobile anti-tank and anti-aircraft units.

Their speed helps reduce the time spent in the open, thus reducing the time to detect and destroy.

Despite their high speed and maneuverability, such vehicles often become easy targets for FPV drones and artillery, and due to the lack of protection, the crew’s chances of survival are minimal.

Militarnyi has already reported that Russians are trying to protect their all-terrain vehicles and even motorcycles as much as possible by adding anti-drone nets, EW equipment, and smoke bombs.

However, such protection remains ineffective due to the lack of the possibility of equipping armor.

  1. “The left projection is not closed, most likely for faster and more convenient loading and unloading of cargo.”

A faster way for a drone to enter too. Plus it has a built in coffin for the unlucky driver of this deathtrap.

    Junk

  2. Leave it to the rashists to make a bird cage bike. Would be a royal pita to try to ditch when it rolls or spontaneously combusts.🤣

  3. Personally I’d be really embarrassed riding in that thing. I’d rather try to outrun the drone than be seen in that contraption. But what I know about the orcs…they’re thrilled stealing toilet bowls which they’re probably using as a sink to face their faces.

    • Embarrassed is not the word I was thinking of, more like terrified. One well placed drone, and you are toast.

      • That’s my point. That cage is restrictive both in speed and maneuverability and will not stop any drone so what is the point of saddling you that bird cage.

        • I should think the handling would be quite interesting, especially with all that extra weight on it.

          • I think it would be interesting and some fun for the operator of the drone to see how an idiot in that cage thinks he can outrun a drone.

            • This is why I squirm when these fear mongers claim that russia will attack a NATO country. If this carries on for another 12 months, russia will be down to horse and cart, but without the horse. They will have orcs pulling the cart, they are more expendable.

          • As a motorcyclist, I can assure you that the handling sucks completely. Anything except going straight ahead is a mind-boggling challenge with this weight spread far from the center of gravity, especially on uneven terrain.

  4. Seriously now … when you think the peak of stupidity has been reached by the cockroach army, they manage to rise to new heights of idiocy.

As a motorcyclist, I can assure anyone that the handling of this two-wheeled bird cage sucks completely. Anything except going straight ahead is a mind-boggling challenge with the added weight, and spread far from the center of gravity, especially on uneven terrain. But, whatever turns their cranks! 🤣🤡
