On the night of August 5, Russians carried out the most massive attack on the city of Lozovaya in the Kharkiv region since the beginning of the war. This was reported by the city’s mayor, Serhiy Zelensky, on Telegram.

“This night the Russians committed real terror against peaceful people who were sleeping quietly,” he wrote.

He noted that there is a lot of destruction in the city – critical infrastructure, high-rise buildings, and the private sector are damaged.

“Unfortunately, there are injured people – two children among them. Rescuers, doctors, and emergency aid are working. We are recording the consequences,” the city mayor added.

In addition, as a result of the strike, part of the city is without water supply and electricity. In particular, there are power outages in Avilovka, as well as in the Katerinovsky Starostinsky District.

As reported by Ukrzaliznytsia , the Russians launched a massive attack on the railway infrastructure of Lozovaya; there are dead and wounded railway workers.

“As a result of the enemy attack, the railway station and other infrastructure facilities were damaged. Most people managed to get to shelter, but, unfortunately, there were casualties. The duty mechanic of one of the units was killed, and four more railway workers were injured. All the victims are receiving the necessary medical care,” the department noted.

UZ also reported that as a result of the shelling, the routes of some trains were changed.

In particular, train No. 66/65 -166/165 Uman – Cherkassy – Kharkov is taking a detour, the same applies to other trains in the Kramatorsk direction. Now the detour will cause a delay of up to an hour.

Passengers from/to Lozovaya will be transported to trains in Panyutino by buses.

Russian attacks on Ukraine

On Sunday, August 3, the invading army of the Russian Federation killed three people in the Zaporizhzhya region and damaged houses and a rescue vehicle.

Before that, in Nikolaev, as a result of the attack, 23 private and 12 apartment buildings , six cars, a post office and a building materials store were damaged. Seven people were injured.

Earlier, analysts reported that Russia was going to expand the use of the occupied territory of Ukraine to carry out drone strikes on Ukraine, in particular, it plans to use the territory of the Donetsk airport for this purpose . The increase in the number of such sites allows the Russian occupation forces to prepare combined attacks on Ukraine and create pressure on the air defense system.
