Russians drive out 47th Mechanized Brigade with missiles and bombs near Pokrovsk, – Forbes

Only 12 thousand Ukrainian troops are holding back a 40 thousand strong Russian army near Pokrovsk.

Russian troops continue to advance towards Pokrovsk , a key Ukrainian stronghold in the Donetsk region. They use glide bombs and anti-tank missiles to push through the Defense Forces, reducing everything to rubble.

As Forbes writes , Russia is losing more troops and equipment than it can afford in the long term. Despite this, the aggressor country still has more troops and equipment than Ukraine, and the invaders are using this numerical advantage to attack Pokrovsk.

The occupiers have concentrated about 20 regiments and brigades in their broad advance east of Pokrovsk. We are talking about a total of potentially 40,000 troops. Only six Ukrainian brigades, numbering about 12,000, are trying to slow their advance.

Back in May, the Ukrainian analytical group Frontelligence Insight warned of danger in the Pokrovsk direction.

“This is one of the most dangerous directions at the moment. “The Russians have a significant number of forces in this area, which they will undoubtedly use to advance further. Although Ukrainian forces have taken steps to stabilize the line, the distribution of forces is uneven, making the front line unstable and very risky,” Frontelligence Insight claimed.

The Ukrainian defense is led by one of the best brigades of the Ukrainian army – the 47th Mechanized Brigade. It is the main operator of heavy armored vehicles of Ukrainian and American manufacture.

However, the Russians have developed a new tactic for defeating M-2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles. While powerful glide bombs strike the rear, Russian scouts on motorcycles are reconnoitring Ukrainian positions closer to the line of contact.

When they notice a Ukrainian vehicle, Russian anti-tank missiles arrive.

“Over the past few days, the number of anti-tank missiles fired by military personnel at Defense Forces positions has increased significantly,” said Ukrainian analytical group DeepState.

On or about Friday, the 47th Mechanized Brigade’s M-2 advanced toward Russian forces east of Pokrovsk, firing its 25-millimeter automatic cannon as it did so. A Russian antitank missile hit it directly from the front, immobilizing the 34-ton vehicle. The seven crew members managed to bail out of the burning Bradley and retreat back to the lines.

“The Ukrainian command is worried. The Russian command continues to transfer troops and equipment to the offensive. What will happen next is unclear. For the Ukrainians, the silver lining in the coming storm is that urban areas are easier to defend. The closer the Russians get to Pokrovsk, the harder it will be to support their offensive,” the publication notes.

The current pace of the enemy’s advance towards Pokrovsk is currently slowing down due to its proximity to populated areas. However, this is small consolation for Ukrainian forces, who have spent years fighting to keep the enemy out of Pokrovsk, and are now forced to watch as the enemy gets ever closer.

War in Ukraine – situation near Pokrovsk

Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky said that the occupiers are concentrating their efforts on the Pokrovsk direction, throwing experienced assault units into battle. In addition, fierce battles continue on the approaches to Chasovy Yar.

On the evening of August 1, DeepState analysts reported that Russian occupation forces had captured the town of Vesyoloye .

British intelligence predicts that Russian invading forces will continue their tactical advance in the Donetsk region .

  1. This is a fucking disaster. Long predicted, but the allies as usual still failed to provide the necessary firepower to stop the horde of nazi vermin.
    Thanks for nothing laggards.

  2. I cannot understand or imagine the incredible courage it takes to fight in the trenches against the worst threat of the 21st century, while your so-called supporters, sheltered in the West, far from Ukraine’s fight for a world free, negotiate, against the best interests of Ukraine, the influx of weapons and the rules of war.

Joe Biden, you are unworthy to defend freedom. I know the orange baboon is worse, but this stagnation, these losses of territories and all these unnecessary deaths are your work. This damn strategy (weakness) kills and could put Ukraine close to the state of capitulation.

    • The losses and injuries on the Russian side are starting to slow down, even if they remain substantial, we are clearly in a dangerous moment for Ukraine.

Loss of territory and diminished capacity to inflict casualties should ring a wake-up call to Kyiv’s allies.

      West, All to Ukraine! Now!

        “Stop”

That’s all the world’s leading power has to say to a genocidal autocrat threatening the peace of the planet?! Is it possible to be more insignificant than this “stop”. Stop what?

If anyone has to stop something, it’s this inconsistent mummy by stopping sabotaging Ukraine’s fight.
