On Thursday, March 6, the Russians amassed a considerable number of armored vehicles with troops and went to storm the city of Chasov Yar in the Donetsk region. As reported by the monitoring project DeepState, in most cases the Russians were met on the approach to the city or in the process of entering it through the canal.

“The column consisted of more than two dozen units, which were met by Ukrainian military on the morning of March 6. The enemy had been gathering this number for a long time,” the report says.

It is noted that such activity in the area of Chasovy Yar is unusual, since the pressure is mainly carried out by small groups of infantry.

According to DeepState data, fighting is now taking place throughout the city.

“It is worth highlighting the Novoseverny microdistrict separately, which the K***ps have been trying to occupy completely for some time now, without success. Also the central part of the city, where the infantry of the occupier is often hit, as it tries to hide in the ruins of multi-story buildings. Constant attempts to enter the Shevchenko microdistrict do not cease,” the analysts emphasized.

The 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Daniel reported that as a result of this morning “safari” in Chasovy Yar on March 6, 16 units of Russian equipment were destroyed. The Russian column of about 25 units of equipment was met by Ukrainian infantry, artillery and drone crews.

“As a result, the Russian column at some point got stuck in a “traffic jam” – a cluster of damaged equipment blocked the crossing of the canal. Those who survived pushed “reverse”, but not everyone managed to escape. At least 14 units of equipment burned or remained on the battlefield, others decided not to tempt fate and rolled back,” the brigade reported.

The defenders added that some of the occupiers managed to dismount, but this only delayed their “ticket to hell”:

“Our FPV pilots are working on this right now.”

According to the 24th Brigade, 11 units of equipment were destroyed, and five more vehicles were damaged. Preliminary enemy losses in manpower are at least 33 fighters killed and wounded.

As UNIAN reported, the battle for Chasov Yar between Ukrainian and Russian troops began in April 2024.

Recently, military observer Denis Popovich noted that now the Russians cannot attack in several directions of the front at the same time , as they did several months ago. Therefore, the occupiers are forced to choose one direction, which in their opinion will be the most promising. According to Popovich, they can transfer troops to the triangle – Torets-Chasov Yar-Konstantinovka. Their goal is to begin an offensive on Konstantinovka.
