Ukrainian drones damaged infrastructure at the Tyumen Oil Refinery, likely forcing the facility to suspend operations.
The Exilenova+ project reported the incident.
According to researchers, the drones struck a diesel fuel purification unit and a high-octane gasoline production unit.
In addition, one storage tank was destroyed by fire in the tank farm area. At the same time, the ELOU-AT-3 unit, which performs primary crude oil processing, appears to have remained undamaged.
Based on an analysis of the attack’s consequences, researchers concluded that the refinery likely suspended operations due to damage to several key processing units.

The Tyumen Oil Refinery, formerly known as the Antipinsky Oil Refinery, was attacked on July 25.
It is one of the largest deep oil processing facilities in Russia’s Ural Federal District.
The refinery’s primary processing capacity exceeds 9 million tonnes of crude oil per year. Its refining depth reaches 98%, allowing it to minimize fuel oil production and increase output of lighter petroleum products.
The facility produces diesel fuel, AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas, petroleum coke and sulfur.
Before the owner’s financial difficulties, the refinery also planned to launch a hydrocracking unit for the production of jet fuel and petrochemical products, but the project was halted.
Earlier, on July 23, drones struck an oil pumping station in Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan and an oil depot in the Ulyanovsk region.
On the same day, Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles also struck the NS-Oil refinery.
