Such actions are classified as a grave international crime.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian invaders shot three Ukrainian soldiers who surrendered.

As reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General , information about this was disseminated today on Telegram. According to the report, servicemen of one of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine came out of the basement of the house with their hands raised, and the occupiers put them face down on the ground and almost immediately shot them in the back.

“The deliberate killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a grave international crime. The disseminated information is currently being verified. A number of investigative (search) actions are being carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the said event,” the statement says.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Execution of prisoners

This is far from the first report of executions of Ukrainian defenders by Russian invaders. The occupiers themselves publish photos and videos online that prove their brutal crimes.

Last spring, they published a video of the execution of a Ukrainian prisoner of war . After that, Russian propaganda began actively justifying this act.
