GUR shared details of special operation “Ocheret”. Photos and videos

A 24-year-old Russian serviceman with the call sign “Silver” blew up the headquarters of the officers of the “Storm Z” battalion, crossed
the front line to the Ukrainian side and joined the ranks of the Russian legion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He managed to do this thanks to the successful operation codenamed “Ocheret” of the “I Want to Live” project and the “Freedom of Russia” Legion.
Details of the special operation
were reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Also, the video in which the Russian told his story
was published by the project “I Want to Live”.
According to him, he specifically signed a contract with the Russian army with the goal of crossing the front line to the Ukrainian side and joining the ranks of the Freedom of Russia Legion. Before that, he contacted LSR representatives in a chatbot.
Having become a contract soldier, the Russian found himself in hell itself – in one of the suicide units “Storm”. There he saw all the “charms” of the Russian army: complete lawlessness, devaluation of human life, lack of training, lack of supplies, sadistic commanders who “zeroed out” soldiers for the slightest offense, etc.
These systematic military and other crimes in the occupation unit further encouraged the Russian to cooperate with Ukraine.
He completed FPV drone pilot training and contacted the Freedom of Russia Legion in the winter of 2024.
“Silver” was a member of the resistance for several months and transmitted important operational information to the “Freedom of Russia” legion about the location of the forces and resources of the Russian Army, plans, tasks on a specific section of the front, etc.
“As part of interaction with Russian servicemen, Ukraine was able to obtain valuable intelligence data on the location, numbers and intentions of the enemy in a specific direction of the front,” the GUR noted.
In May 2024, taking advantage of the opportunity, “Silver” threw a grenade into the ventilation pipe of the headquarters basement, where the battalion commander and other Russian officers spent the night.
“There were about 15 people in the basement. In this room there was a pipe right above the bed where the battalion commander slept. It went out onto the street next to the entrance, and we decided to throw a grenade or two into this pipe so that they would explode next to them,” the Russian said.
As a result of the explosion, the commander and several senior officers of the Storm unit were seriously injured.
When the deed was done, the Russian disappeared along a pre-agreed route with LSR and the “I Want to Live” team, who had organized his exit from the line of conflict. On his way out, he mined the path he was running along.
The operation took place in the area of the city of Ocheretino in the Donetsk region, and therefore received the code name “Ocheret”.
The Russian is currently undergoing basic training as a recruit for the Freedom of Russia Legion to fight the criminal Putin regime.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, a former Russian sailor set fire to a missile ship of the Russian Baltic Fleet and went over to the Ukrainian side. Now he is a recruit of the “Freedom of Russia” legion with the call sign “Goga”.
