The Russians have sent their drones to the western regions of Ukraine.

This morning, explosions were heard in the western regions during an attack by enemy “shaheeds.”

In particular, explosions were heard in Ivano-Frankivsk region and Lutsk, and air defense systems were deployed. Local authorities reported on the situation.

An airstrike in Ivano-Frankivsk region was declared at 4:41 a.m. due to the threat of Russian drones. And at 5:32; 5:47; 5:52, explosions were heard.

At 6:26 a.m., the air raid alert was declared in Ivano-Frankivsk region. As reported by the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk OVA Svitlana Onyshchuk, the enemy attacked the region from different directions. According to her, “there were no casualties.” 

In addition, at 6:01 a.m., Lutsk Mayor Ihor Polishchuk reported explosions in the city, and air defense systems could be heard.

At 6:12 a.m. Polishchuk reported that “another UAV is flying to Lutsk.” After the mayor’s announcement, a series of explosions were heard.

In Volyn, the alarm was lifted at 6:25, and then again at 6:40.

At the same time, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that at night the Russians massively attacked a village in the territory of the Sumy community. The enemy directed about 10 attack drones at civilian infrastructure.

“A fire broke out at the site of the hits, and SES units have been working there since night. Initially, there were no casualties. The consequences of the enemy attack are being investigated,” the report says.

Also, the acting head of the Poltava OVA, Volodymyr Kohut, stated that air defense was operating in the Poltava region at night.

“In the Lubny district, as a result of the fall of debris from an enemy UAV onto the territory of a private household, a fire broke out in a residential building and a car. The fire has been localized,” he said.

In addition, buildings and structures belonging to other households were damaged. There were no injuries.

Later, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on the night of May 15, at midnight, Russian invaders attacked the territory of Ukraine with 110 Shahed attack UAVs and simulator drones of various types from the directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo – Russia.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

“As of 08:00, it has been confirmed that 62 Shahed attack UAVs (other types of drones) have been shot down in the east, north, west and center of the country. 29 enemy simulator drones have been lost in location (without negative consequences),” the report says.

As a result of the enemy attack, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Kyiv, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions suffered.
