Russian propagandist unexpectedly admitted the failure of the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine

3.10.2025

Z-propagandist Yuriy Kotenok stated that in three and a half years, Russia has not accomplished any of its initial objectives in the war against Ukraine. He emphasized that neither the so-called “denazification” nor “demilitarization” have been implemented, and the Kremlin’s results appear to be zero.

According to Kotenko, the front is at a dead end, and even the capture of the Donetsk region alone could drag on for at least another year and a half. He called the situation a stalemate and admitted that Russian society will continue on this path for years, continuing to support the war, which has turned into a senseless and bloody process.

“According to rough calculations, if we continue to advance through fortified areas at the same pace, breaking through the enemy’s defenses, we will go for years . … According to my calculations, if we continue to move forward at this pace, gnawing away dozens of meters a day, we will need from a year to a year and a half just to liberate the territory of the “DPR” ,” emphasizes Kotenok.

Words that alerted

Kotenok is known as one of the most active military propagandists who shape the information background of the war in Russia. His confessions of failure caused a resonance, because he is one of the “voices of the regime” and has been broadcasting the official line for many years. However, now he himself admits that Putin’s stated goals have remained on paper.

Commenting on his own statements, he added that in Russian society “everyone understands everything” but still continues to support what he called “bloody marasmus.” This sounded like a kind of rebuke to the audience, although without calls for resistance.

Who is Kitten?

Yuriy Kotenok was born in 1971 in Moscow into the family of a military correspondent. Until 1992, he studied at the Higher Military-Political School in Lviv at the faculty of “military journalism”. But he graduated from the faculty of journalism in Moscow. He began working in the newspapers of the Russian Ministry of Defense. Later, he specialized in military topics – he covered Chechnya, Abkhazia, Syria, Nagorno-Karabakh. He was wounded twice during business trips, in particular in Syria and Karabakh.

He currently heads the pro-Kremlin publication “Segodnya.ru”, runs his own Telegram channel and regularly appears on propaganda broadcasts and podcasts. He is under sanctions in Ukraine and a number of Western countries as a participant in the Russian Federation’s information terrorist war against Ukraine.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported how Russian propagandists and media outlets responded favorably to the protests in Ukraine. They called on Ukrainians to continue the rallies and overthrow the Ukrainian government, and on America to stop funding Ukraine and providing weapons. For example, propagandist Olga Skabeeva called on Ukrainians to “expel the president of Ukraine” on her Telegram channel.

  1. When even propagandists are losing hope, you know things are NOT going according to plan.

  2. “He emphasized that neither the so-called “denazification” nor “demilitarization” have been implemented, and the Kremlin’s results appear to be zero.”

According to the might putin, russia are advancing on all fronts, so someone is lying.

  3. Everyone including these propagandists talk about how long it will take to break our defenses to continue advancing. I’m looking forward to stopping this type of discussion and discussing a counteroffensive taking back our land.
