Russian oppositionist explained why Putin wants to destroy Ukraine

Russian opposition leader Garry Kasparov argues that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine is connected with Vladimir Putin’s desire to restore the USSR and the threat of the end of his regime due to reforms and democracy in a neighboring country.

He expressed this opinion on the air of Channel 24 .

“Obviously, Ukraine is a country that is very different from Russia. It sets an example for Russian citizens. Therefore, the elimination of Ukrainian statehood is a matter of survival for Putin,” Kasparov says.

According to him, the Kremlin denies Ukraine’s right to statehood in order to prevent its formation as a strong state.

“Without Ukraine, there can be no Russian empire, but apart from Putin’s geopolitical allusions, there is also a specific practical problem. A free, democratic and prosperous Ukraine is a deadly threat to Putin’s totalitarianism in Russia,” he explained.

Putin, the oppositionist notes, is ready to support world dictators, denying the right of the people to change power.

“Ukraine demonstrates that power should change legally in elections, and this is a mortal threat for Putin. The paths of Russia and Ukraine diverged back in 1994, when Ukraine elected a new president, that is, a peaceful transition of power took place,” he added.

Earlier, Russian journalist and historian Roman Popkov said that  Putin considers himself one of the masters of the world – this is a problem for countries neighboring the Russian Federation.

According to the former State Duma deputy Dmitry Gudkov,  everything can be expected from the head of the Kremlin today , since he has built an illusory world in which everything is fine.

  1. Gary is a great man. If only he could be president of the RF, perhaps with Vladimir Kara-Murza as his PM. What a (comparatively) wonderful world it would be!
Boris and Biden should commence a massive munitions airlift immediately.

    • Putin is pushing to keep Ukraine out of NATO so someone should push to take Russia out of the UN..or everything. Hell, something! All the talk is about what fuckingputin wants. I hardly hear anyone speak about what Ukraine wants.
If someone assassinated Putin there wouldn’t be a tear shed even in Moscow, and yet we treat him like a King.

  2. I’m sure the krauts are actively aiding RuSSia. Probably they even share Nato intel with RuSSia. What to expect from a Nazi state that returned to forced vaccination, just like under Hitler…

    Our words … AGAIN!
Without Ukraine, there can be no Ruskie empire, thus, there will never be a Ruskie empire. The pricks in Moscow will learn this fact one day.
A free, democratic and prosperous Ukraine is a deadly threat to Putin’s totalitarianism in Russia, and so the rodent and his mafia system and assgivers are dead men walking.
