Russian Military Helicopter Shot Down in Armenia, 2 Dead

A Russian military helicopter was shot down Monday in Armenia near the border with Azerbaijan, the Defense Ministry in Moscow said, killing two crew members.

The ministry said in a statement that the Mi-24 helicopter was hit by a man-portable air defense system close to the border with Azerbaijan, whose forces are fighting Armenian-backed separatists in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

A third person was injured and evacuated, it said.

  1. Does anyone smell false flag here? Either Russia shot this helicopter down, or Armenia shot it down to drag Russia into this war they are losing.

  2. The State Aviation Museum, located next to Zhulyany Airport in Kyiv, has some MI-24s. I remember at least one with a damaged front armor glass, caused by small arms fire in Afghanistan. Very interesting to see … the chopper and the museum too.
