Russian invaders staged a real torture room in the underground bunkers of the ZNPP – “Energodar”

Human rights activists suggest that the Russian invaders will not let the IAEA mission into all the premises at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

The Russian occupants set up a real torture chamber in the underground bunkers of the Zaporizhzhya NPP , which is cynically called “Energetik”.

This was reported in the Telegram channel of NNEGC “Energoatom” with reference to the Eastern Human Rights Group.

“The process of bullying is controlled by the infamous Wagner group. The only condition for the criminals to release people is a ransom. But money is not a guarantee of freedom, especially when it comes to the pro-Ukrainian residents of Energodar: their captors simply hate them fiercely,” the message says.

The report says that another element of torture is the constant threats to “throw into the reactor”, “arrange a radioactive shower”, “make them permanently bald and without teeth.”

Human rights activists suggest that the Russian invaders will not let the IAEA mission into all the premises at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

“We believe that the IAEA commission should monitor the entire ZNPP and also take representatives of the ICRC and representatives of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights with them in order to stop the torture and ill-treatment of prisoners of the Energetik prison,” the Eastern Human Rights Group notes.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on August 25, the State Inspectorate for Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine announced that the Zaporizhzhya NPP had been de-energized – the last of four overhead lines was disconnected , due to which the sixth power unit of the station was disconnected from the power grid.

On August 26, two power units of ZNPP were reconnected to the grid after shutdown and produce electricity for the needs of Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, commenting on the situation at the Zaporozhye NPP, noted that the IAEA and other international organizations should act much faster than now.

The head of the IAEA, Rafael Mariano Grossi, noted that he was ready to personally lead the IAEA mission at the station in the coming days to help stabilize the situation with nuclear safety.
