Russia held a Eurovision parody contest called “Intervision ,” which almost failed miserably. The Russians awarded the victory to a representative of the LGBT community.

As it became known from the official Instagram account of the competition, the main trophy was won by the representative of Vietnam, Dick Phuc. This choice turned out to be strange and incomprehensible for many, because the Vietnamese is in an open same-sex relationship, and in Russia, as is known, the LGBT topic is quite taboo. However, this did not prevent Phuc from collecting the largest amount of points.

Kyrgyzstan came in second, and Qatar rounded out the top three. Russia also failed to score. SHAMAN unexpectedly decided to withdraw from the evaluation, making a rather strange statement about the “hospitality of the host country.”

Surprisingly, other Russians condemned SHAMAN’s position. In particular, the producer and husband of the propaganda singer Valeria, Iosif Prigozhin, stated that it would be better if someone else represented Russia.Read also:

“Why participate? A better place would be given to someone who needs the airtime, you know? Such an act is simply incomprehensible to me, to be honest,” he noted.

In their media, Russians tirelessly proclaim the success of their parody of Eurovision, in which, by the way, 21 countries out of 23 entered took part (representatives of the USA and Australia did not appear). Russian publics report the sky-high statistics of the show’s views – over 4 billion. However, at the same time, the broadcast was watched by a little more than 100 thousand viewers on the official YouTube channel of the contest.
