Russian helicopter crashes in Kerch Strait: first details

26.10.2024

A Russian helicopter crashed in the Kerch Strait. However, specific information about the type of helicopter is contradictory, as reports have changed several times.

At first, it was about the Ka-27, later about the Ka-52. This is what the propaganda Telegram channel FighterBomber writes about.

Fighterbomber initially reported that the crash involved a Ka-27 helicopter belonging to the Russian Naval Aviation. It was noted that the preliminary cause of the incident could have been a failure of the aircraft equipment.

However, the message was subsequently deleted, and a new post appeared in its place, which was about a crash involving a helicopter of a different model, the Ka-52.

This message also subsequently disappeared, and the channel published another message, which spoke of a “helicopter crash,” without specifying the specific type.

  1. Crashed or shot down? Certain Ukrainian naval drones carry air defense missiles.
But, even if it was “just” a crash, this means that either the chopper was junk, or the maintenance was junk, or the pilot was drunk.
