Russian flags disappear from flagpoles on Mariupol’s central square

 19 OCTOBER 2022

Russian flags, hung out by the invaders, have disappeared from the centre of the temporarily occupied Mariupol in Donetsk Oblast.

Quote: “Suddenly, all Russian rags disappeared from the flagpole on Svoboda [Freedom – ed.] Square. Or not suddenly. Surprisingly, the Russians have not noticed this mess. Mariupol’s resistance sends its regards.”

Previously: In September, the Mariupol City Council stated that resistance was gaining momentum in occupied Mariupol; the mayor’s office explained that it was due to residents not being satisfied with the occupation authorities.

  1. So, resistance is gaining momentum, even in Mariupol, deeply in occupied territory and one of the war’s major symbols.

  2. Liked Sir OFP’s and Sir RSM’s comments.
Glad to see that Ukrainians are finding ruZZia’s flag useful for starting campfires.
