The author has a great sense of humour for a russian.
I’ve seen ruskie apartments that make any pigsty look like the Ritz.
My wife can vouch for that. In Moscow, they had two halves in a hotel, one for the tourists and one half for the sheep. The tourist side was like a pig sty, so one can only guess what the half for the sheep looked like.
If the tourist side was like a pig sty, I won’t ever want to look at the sheep side.
