On Friday, February 4, in the Philippines in the city of Manila, the building of the Russian Embassy caught fire. The aftermath of the fire is still being cleared up.
This was reported in the Department of the Situation and Crisis Center (DSCC) of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
As a result of the incident, no one was injured. Russian diplomats and members of their families who were in the building were evacuated.
The building was significantly damaged. The causes of the fire are being investigated.
“In cooperation with the Philippine emergency services, the main source of fire was quickly extinguished, and work to extinguish the fire will be completed in the near future,” the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The footage, published by the Philippine publication Rappler, shows that the roof of the building caught fire.
