Fires broke out in high-rise buildings and in the port.

On the night of May 1, the Russian army again attacked the Odessa region  with strike drones, which hit residential high-rise buildings in the regional center and port infrastructure in the south of the region.

As an UNIAN correspondent reports, the air alert was declared at around 1 a.m. Monitoring channels reported that drones were moving towards the Odessa region from the Black Sea, and soon they were recorded in Odessa and the region.  

The head of the Odessa city military administration, Serhiy Lysak, said at night that a fire broke out in a 16-story building due to an enemy attack. Another skyscraper was also hit – the fire broke out on the 11th and 12th levels.

As of seven in the morning, according to Lysak, there was information about one victim who was provided with the necessary assistance and will be treated on an outpatient basis.

“As a result of the night strike, residential high-rise buildings in the Khadzhibey district were hit,” the official noted.

According to the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odessa region , two people were injured during the night.

“This night, residential and port infrastructure were hit. In Odessa, as a result of hitting a 16-story residential building, one of the apartments was destroyed, and a fire broke out on the roof. One person was injured. At another address, a drone hit an apartment on the 12th floor of a 13-story building – a fire broke out there as well. Another person was injured,” the rescuers said.

It is specified that the port infrastructure in the region was damaged due to the impact, where a fire also broke out.  

As noted, all fires were quickly extinguished.

It also became known that the Russians attacked the port infrastructure of the Izmail district (south of Odessa region). In particular, the district administration said that the enemy carried out an air attack on the port infrastructure, there were no casualties, according to preliminary data.

Russia attacks Odessa almost every day

On the night of April 30, the Russian occupation army attacked Odessa with dozens of strike drones – fires broke out in the city, housing was significantly damaged, buses and cars were destroyed, and many civilians were injured. The Primorsky district of the city was the most affected, where a high-rise building and a 5-story residential building were damaged: large-scale fires broke out on the upper floors and roof, which rescuers managed to localize. 

20 people were injured, several in serious condition.

On April 29,  several waves of drones attacked Odessa . The enemy hit a parking lot and an administrative building, injuring four people. Later, after the second “wave”, it was reported that the number of victims had increased to six.
