Update: The UK Department of Defense has denied that there was warning fire on the destroyer Defender. The ship, emphasized 

in the message of the British Ministry of Defense, “made a peaceful transition in the territorial waters of Ukraine in accordance with international law.”

The destroyer “Defender” of the British Navy entered the territorial zone of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea for three kilometers, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced.

The British ship did not respond to warnings “about the use of weapons in the event of a violation of the state border,” Interfax quotes a statement from the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

At 12:06 and 12:08 the border patrol ship fired warning shots. At 12:19 pm, the Su-24M aircraft performed precautionary bombing along the path of the destroyer.

After warning fire and bombing at 12:23, the British ship, the Ministry of Defense said, still left the territorial zone of Russia.

In connection with the incident with the destroyer, the military attaché of the British Embassy has been summoned to the Russian Defense Ministry, RIA Novosti reports .
