On the night of December 9, a number of Russian cities came under attack by suicide drones. Numerous explosions occurred in Cheboksary, Ryazan, and Lipetsk.
Severe fires broke out in some locations after the attack. Monitoring Telegram channels report this.
Details about the explosions
Explosions erupted in the city of Cheboksary (Republic of Chuvashia) in the early hours of the morning. Local residents said they heard at least 10 loud explosions over the city.
Local authorities said that as a result of Russian air defense operations in the South-West district, fragments of a drone flew into a multi-story building. As a result, a fire broke out, windows were broken, balconies partially collapsed, and the facade was damaged. Cars parked nearby were also damaged.
Several streets in Cheboksary were blocked off after the UAV attack. In addition, temporary traffic restrictions were imposed on several highways in the city.
“Emergency services have been put on high alert. Emergency and recovery measures are being carried out, and the safety of residents is being ensured. In Cheboksary, traffic on a number of city highways has been temporarily restricted,” the head of the republic said.
Explosions also erupted in the Ryazan region at night. According to local authorities, the region was subjected to a massive drone attack. The Russian Defense Ministry also confirmed the attack.
The terrorist agency said that 10 Ukrainian aircraft-type UAVs were destroyed over the Ryazan region overnight. The governor of the Ryazan region, Pavel Malkov, claims that “there are no casualties or serious damage.” At the same time, the official said that emergency services are working at the site of the attack and assessing material damage.
In Lipetsk, the attack began just after midnight. Local residents complained that the walls of their houses were shaking from powerful explosions. The Russian Defense Ministry also reported that three drones were allegedly destroyed over the Lipetsk region.
According to monitoring channels, the Koksokhimmontazh enterprise was attacked in Lipetsk.
Earlier, the network showed the consequences of the attack on the oil depot in Livny, Oryol region of the Russian Federation. Satellites recorded the destruction of two large tanks where fuel and lubricants were stored.
As OBOZ.UA reported, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed on December 4 the destruction of the chemical plant “Nevinnomyssk Azot” in the Stavropol Territory of the aggressor country Russia. As noted in the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the destruction of “one of the largest chemical enterprises of the aggressor” was carried out “as part of reducing the offensive potential, as well as the enemy’s capabilities for missile and bomb strikes.”
