Sergei Rudskoy, Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, emphasized the main goal of the Russian army in Ukraine. According to him, the invaders will focus on the liberation of Donbass .
Rudskoy stated that the assault on large cities, such as Kyiv, Chernigov and Sumy, was never planned. Allegedly, they wanted to avoid this in order to minimize losses among personnel and civilians.
“Although we do not rule out such a possibility [storming large cities — ed.], as individual groups complete their tasks, and they are successfully solved, our forces and means will be concentrated on the main thing — the complete liberation of Donbass,” Rudskoy continued.
Recall that one of the official goals of the so-called “special operation” (war) in Ukraine, according to the Russian Federation, was access to the administrative borders of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions. However, earlier the Russian Federation also actively talked about “denazification” – the elimination of imaginary Nazis among the Ukrainian authorities.
The statement that the liberation of Donbass is the main goal may indicate that Russia is preparing a backup plan. Now the offensive of the invaders has bogged down in all directions except the east. Given the current situation at the front, the Russian Federation could well have abandoned the complete occupation of Ukraine and concentrated its efforts on the Donbass. And such comments are made in preparation for such a change of course.

As always with the kremlin you have to reverse certain words to find the truth: “denazification” actually means “nazification”, since what the little poisoner wanted to achieve was the complete destruction of Ukraine as a sovereign state and the absorption of what remains of it into the Russian empire. An empire that is run by a genocidal child-killer with ethics and ideology almost identical to that of the little Austrian.
It could now be that the putinazis are scaling back their objectives. But of course no one can ever trust such malignant savages.

Looks to me like they are going back to Plan A which was to reinforce the occupied Donbas because the people are revolting, escaping to Ukraine and all the men have left or died. It should be interesting to watch them try to advance past their own landmines.
I say the Ukrainian army should liberate the Russian army from their earthly bodies.
