Currently, T-72B3 with “innovative” protection towers are already in service in the occupied Crimea
The other day, at one of the training grounds in the Ukrainian Autonomous Republic of Crimea in 2014, one of the combat units of the Russian army was trained.
According to the press service of the Southern Military District of the RF Armed Forces, the crews of T-72B3 tanks of the coastal defense unit of the Black Sea Fleet performed combat firing from regular weapons.

However, the most interesting is not the actual shooting at targets, but the equipment of the occupier’s regular tanks, which are located in the occupied Ukrainian territory.
As you can see from the photos from the air defense press service, specific structures are welded on the towers of the tanks from above, which are supposed to protect the combat vehicle from being hit from above. According to the Russian military, these “visors” will protect the most vulnerable and vulnerable places of the T-72B3 from modern ammunition, which “attacks” the target from above.

For the first time, tanks with similar updates were demonstrated during exercises at the Kadamovsky test site in the Rostov region a month ago. Actually then the Russian military also explained purpose of “sun visors”.https://www.youtube.com/embed/JAZ7ar5V-So
“The design is designed to enhance protection against new generation anti-tank missiles and ammunition. As you know, modern anti-tank missiles, including American Javelin, are designed to hit the missile most vulnerable parts of armored vehicles. One such place is the upper projection of the tank turret,” – then commented on the innovation representatives of the Russian Air Defense to journalists of the publication “RG”.

They also mentioned the barricading UAVs, which are also “trying to hit tanks and other armored vehicles in the least armored upper part of the hull” and from which the Russian tanks are now supposedly protected.
“In the near future, other T-72 tanks will receive similar elements of protection,” the Russian military said.

Interestingly, the “innovation” to protect against Javelin anti-aircraft missiles and drone strikes (both kamikaze drones and strike drones) was primarily given to tanks based near (or in the occupied territories) of Ukraine, which actually has such a weapon in its arsenal. equipment, unlike most of Russia’s neighbors.

And although experts in the field of cumulative ammunition (as on the FGM-148 Javelin), barrage strike drones or guided grenades (as on the Bayraktar TB2) experts unanimously state the great doubt and expediency of protection in such a performance, the actions of the military command Russia says that the new threats posed by modern guided weapons are taken quite seriously.

It is also worth noting that the Russian military was probably unpleasantly impressed by the vulnerability of Soviet-style armored vehicles to attacks with such weapons and their effectiveness in the modern war. The capabilities of strike drones in Russia could be assessed during several conflicts last year, which involved Turkish strike drones Bayraktar TB2 and various kamikaze drones.

What a disgrace of a country it is……………….use an umbrella or a plastic bag hahahaha………
The liberation of Donbas must a piece of cake………with this junk army…………….
No doubt, our Javelins and other modern weapons have put fear into the mafiosi. But, their ridiculous countermeasures are useless. I also have no doubts that this is a major reason why the runt hasn’t given the go-ahead to attack Ukraine further.
