The Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy of Ukraine stated that this diesel fuel would be enough for less than 2 hours of consumption in the United States.

The first tanker with a capacity of 40,000 tons of diesel fuel will be sent from Russia to the United States on Thursday, October 22. This was announced by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, quoted by Russian media.

“This particular tanker will have a displacement of 40,000 tons. And it will undoubtedly be followed by subsequent batches. There were agreements between the two leaders. We will meet the needs of the United States of America within our capabilities,” he said.

At the same time, he added that the signing of the contract with American partners is in the final stages.

The report states that Russia can supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel fuel immediately, another 500,000 tons in November, and 1 million tons immediately thereafter.

The Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy of Ukraine, Vladyslav Vlasyuk, wrote on Facebook that the first tanker with 40,000 tons of Russian diesel fuel will be sent to the United States tomorrow.

“Let’s do the math. 40,000 tons is about 300,000 barrels. The US consumes about 4 million barrels of diesel fuel per day. That is, this entire tanker covers less than 2 hours of American consumption. At the same time, the US itself exports about 1.5 million barrels of diesel fuel per day. A tanker is equal to 4.5 hours of American exports,” he wrote.

He stated that the journey from Ust-Luga to American terminals takes 2.5–3 weeks.

“By the time the tanker reaches its destination, the US will have shipped more than 4 million tons of its own diesel fuel abroad. This is a hundred times more than it will bring in. So, one of the world’s largest exporters of diesel fuel is buying it from aggressor countries to cover two hours of its own demand?” Vlasyuk added.
