He noted that the peace should be fair and lasting.

Regardless of the agreement that ends the war in Ukraine, Russia will have to answer for its war crimes and pay for the destruction it caused.

This statement was made by the high representative of the EU for foreign policy and security policy, Josep Borrell, Le Monde reports . He became the first high-ranking European leader to visit Ukraine after the elections in the United States of America.

“If peace is to be peace and not just a cease-fire, it must be just and lasting. This is a warning to those who say this war must end, so we can end it as soon as possible, no matter what.”

Borrell arrived in Ukraine

It became known about the visit of a high representative of the European Union to Kyiv on November 9. He is leaving this post, but he promises that aid to Ukraine will remain among the main items on the European agenda.

Yesterday, he arrived in  the village of Yagidne in Chernihiv Oblast , which was under the occupation of Russian troops at the beginning of a full-scale war. They kept 368 people in a basement with an area of less than 200 square meters.

According to Borrell, 140,000 cases of war crimes committed by the Russian occupation army have already been registered.

  1. I’m not sure if the West has the guts to make mafia land pay. The Europeans are reluctant to even hand over mafia land’s $300 billion to Ukraine that they have under their control.
