Russia threatened the US and Ukraine with “military-technical” measures due to unwillingness to “negotiate”

Russia insisted on the actual return of NATO to the 1997 model.

The Kremlin said the United States did not give a constructive response to its proposals for “security guarantees.” If the United States is not ready to negotiate, Russia may resort to “military-technical” measures.

This is stated in the text of Moscow’s response to the US reaction to the “security guarantees” put forward by it at the end of 2021, Russian Interfax quotes .

“In the absence of the readiness of the American side to agree on firm, legally binding guarantees of our security from the United States and its allies, Russia will be forced to respond, including through the implementation of measures of a military-technical nature,” the agency quotes the text of the response.

We are talking about the rejection of further expansion of NATO and the withdrawal of the “Bucharest formula”, which guarantees Ukraine and Georgia to join the Alliance in the future.

In addition, Russia insisted on the refusal to create military bases on the territory of states that were once under Soviet occupation, and the actual return of NATO to the 1997 model.

Moscow also states that Washington ignored the package nature of the Russian proposals, of which, according to Russian diplomats, “convenient themes were deliberately chosen and distorted.”

In the document, the Russians reiterated that there is “no” any troop buildup near Ukraine’s borders: “…therefore, the assertion of ‘Russia’s responsibility for the escalation’ cannot be regarded otherwise than as an attempt to put pressure on and devalue Russia’s security guarantees.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry called the US demand to withdraw troops from the borders of Ukraine “unacceptable”.

    • Give one concession, you open the door for even more. Putin has Crimea, he has Donbas, Ukraine have no chance of joining NATO, the Germans will make sure of that. Ukraine will never concede to Russia over the Minsk agreements, that would be the end of Ukraine.

      • But these are not even concessions, just recognizing facts. For the sake of Ukraine’s survival and the safety of all people i am proud to fully disagree with you on this one.

        • There are millions of Ukrainians who don’t agree with you. Better asking them if they want to surrender their country, or are willing to die for it.

          • Possible. But if they can’t win, what will they gain? Lose Crimea anyway and being under a ruSSian boot again? Half of Russia’s military has surrounded Ukraine. This war will not be like Donbas, but like the US invasion of Iraq.

            • The invasion of Iraq needed nearly 400,000 troops from the US and other countries. Putler has nowhere near that many troops, or the advanced weapons the US had at their disposal. Russia would need a hell of a lot more troops than that to invade, never mind hold on to Ukraine.

          • Btw, i want to make very clear that in case of a full scale invasion i will support Ukraine until the end, but i simply prefer to prevent a catastrophe for the people i love more than anybody else.

  1. Putin is threatening the USA and NATO with “military technical measures” which probably translates as killing Ukrainians, and the response is zzzzzz………
Is there no one with balls at either place? Nobody to size up the little zit and remind him who he is and not who he thinks he is?

    • The only response is crippling sanctions now. Fuck the Germans and French, destroy the Russian economy, flood Ukraine with anti aircraft missiles, and other hi tech weapons, it’s time to show Russia a military technical response to their threats.
