He emphasized that in order to bring peace closer, the parties must agree on a meeting between the leaders of the United States, Russia, and Ukraine.

Ukraine has received information from the United States that Russia supports a trilateral meeting with representatives of Washington and Kyiv at a technical level for peace talks, President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a conversation with journalists.

“The American side proposes to do this as soon as possible, we support this. I do not know the final dates of this meeting. The agenda is to end the war, bring peace closer, and prepare everything for a meeting at the leadership level,” the Ukrainian leader said.

He added that Ukrainian negotiators will communicate with representatives of the United States and Russia to bring the end of the war closer. According to the president, this meeting should take place no later than early November.

“We will support the proposal for a ceasefire, an end to the war, a truce in the energy sector, any humanitarian initiatives, the return of prisoners. The main initiative from all these negotiations and the main positive signal is to meet as soon as possible and start working,” Zelensky added.

He stressed that in order to bring peace closer, the parties should agree on a meeting of the leaders of the United States, Russia, and Ukraine. The president also stressed that Europe should be represented at this meeting. The president noted:

“This is important for us, because the agenda of any agreements will concern both security guarantees and a plan for the restoration of our state after the end of the war, and other issues related to the United States, the end of Russia’s war against Ukraine, and European support. That is, we discussed all these issues with partners.”
