Defense Express development director and military expert Valerii Riabykh has commented on the destruction of Russian oil reserves
He discussed this on the Espreso TV channel.
“Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue their efforts to reduce the enemy’s combat potential. One of the key directions is the destruction of logistical support capabilities, particularly fuel, which is a vital resource for any army on the battlefield. Judging by the current dynamics, the Russians are finding it increasingly difficult to counter such strikes by the Defense Forces. This could indicate growing opportunities for Ukraine on the battlefield,” Riabykh said.
The military expert noted that Ukraine’s Defense Forces are progressively improving their strikes deep into Russian territory.
“These strikes are becoming multilayered, involving the use of diverse tools. With each strike, the Defense Forces refine their tactics and test new routes. All of this is taken into account to make future strikes even more effective,” he added.
- On the night of January 16, the Defense Forces struck the Liskinskaya oil depot in the Voronezh region, causing a massive fire. Russian media also reported a UAV attack on the Tambov region.
- By the morning of January 16, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed to have intercepted and shot down 27 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles.
