Russia struggles with planning, relies solely on “meat assaults” — Ukrainian lieutenant colonel

3 April, 2025

Lieutenant Colonel Andriy Pomahaibus, head of the planning department of the S3 section of Ukraine’s Khartia Brigade, noted that Russia is deploying its infantry in multiple directions simultaneously to divert the attention of Ukrainian defenders.

He shared the information on Espreso TV.

“The Khartia Brigade is currently operating in the Kharkiv direction, and the situation remains under control. Russia is attempting to move its manpower to the front line, but Ukrainian defenders are effectively preventing these efforts. The enemy’s planning is weak, and they rely on a single tactic – ‘meat assaults.’ Since their equipment is highly vulnerable due to the effective use of drone systems on our part, the occupiers primarily conduct assault operations with infantry. In some directions, they send their infantry in columns to scatter our attention,” commented the head of the planning section, S3, of the Khartia Brigade.

According to him, the majority of Russian infantry consists of convicts who receive no training. They are sent forward in an attempt to establish at least some foothold in forested areas. However, during attacks, Russian soldiers have only one option — to advance towards Ukrainian positions — because retreat is not an option, as they would be met with gunfire from their own side. However, they still have a chance to survive if they approach and surrender to the Ukrainian side.

“If we recall the Second World War, it was not about good planning or well-trained personnel, but about the sheer amount of manpower, and this is how the Russians fight now. When the resource is superior, it will work. Right now, the manpower ratio is, for example, 1 to 10, and in such a situation, it is very difficult to maintain defense. That is why we are working with the civilian population to replenish the Khartia Brigade and mobilize it, informing them about the work of commanders and high-quality military training,” said Andriy Pomahaibus.

  • On March 30, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported that Russia’s losses in the war with Ukraine exceeded 914,000 people.
  • Over the past day, the occupying Russian army lost at least 1,390 soldiers and a number of military vehicles in the war against Ukraine.

  1. Mafia land’s potato generals didn’t get to their ranks due to skills and intelligence, but to what they bribed their superiors with. In others words, it wasn’t what they know, but who they blow. Hence, they can do only meat assaults as their sole tactics.

And still there is not a single European soldier in the country, not even to pull guard duty, due to the ongoing spinelessness of each and every European country, without a single exception.

    • Not one country in the world sent troops. Not one!
I thought that at least one would have started the ball rolling, but no. It is an enormous shame to all of us.
But I’d single out four in particular:
The Budapest signatories, Germany and Poland.
The first two are obvious. The third because they murdered millions of Ukrainians in WW2 and the fourth because of their border: they could have easily sent a division to support Lviv and Volyn oblasts. Instead they ruled everything out.

      • Yes, it’s a crying shame that cowardice is still strongly represented in each and every country.
