The dry cargo ship came under fire for the second time.
Today, October 14, the Russian occupation army again attacked the Odesa sea trade port, two civilian foreign ships were damaged, one person was killed, and 8 others were injured.
As the UNIAN correspondent reports, several powerful explosions rang out today during the air raid warning in Odesa. The military was warned about the threat of a ballistic strike.
Subsequently, the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – the Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba, stated that the Russian Federation had launched another attack on the port of Odesa.
“As a result of the attack, one person died, eight more were injured. All of them are civilians,” the official emphasized.
Also, according to him, the Palau-flagged dry cargo vessel OPTIMA was damaged for the second time. A week ago, this very ship was already damaged as a result of ballistic shelling. Then the foreigners – crew members – were injured. Another vessel damaged today is the NS Moon (Belize flag).
In addition, the grain warehouse, cargo cranes, warehouses, machinery, buildings of the Seaports Administration branch, and cars were damaged during the attack. According to Kuleba, at the same time, Russian terrorists are “reporting” about apparently hitting military targets:
“In reality, the targets are the same: civilian ships, grain storages, terminals. The infrastructure thanks to which we ensure the world’s food security, which Russia is once again putting at risk by nullifying all norms of international law.”
According to Oleh Kiper, the head of Odesa OVA, the victims are now in the hospital, two of them are in serious condition. All the injured and the deceased are employees of the port infrastructure.
The Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office clarified that the rocket attack was carried out around 11:50. As a result of the attack, an employee of the port died, 8 more people received multiple injuries and were hospitalized.
The survey of the scene is ongoing, data on the final number of dead and injured, as well as a complete list of destruction and damage are being established. An investigation has been launched into the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The river-sea type dry cargo ship NS Moon arrived at the Odessa port in the morning and was moored to the berth at the moment of arrival. It was built in 1990 at the German shipyard Detlef Hegemann Rolandwerft.
The length of the vessel is 85 meters, the width is 12 meters, the draft is 4.5, the deadweight is 2717 tons. The owner is the Albanian company Ns Moon Shipholding Ltd, the city of Tirana. The vessel is actively working in the Mediterranean, in the last few months it has visited Malta, the ports of Italy, Turkey and Tunisia.
