The enemy attacked the industrial infrastructure in the city.

The Russian army shelled Zaporizhia today – one person is known to have died and six wounded. This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhia OVA Ivan Fedorov.

At about 15:17, an air raid alert was declared in the Zaporizhia region due to the threat of using guided aerial bombs and ballistic missiles. Explosions were subsequently reported.

Later, Fedorov reported that the enemy attacked industrial infrastructure in Zaporozhye.

According to him, as a result of the attack, one person died and three others were injured.

He later said the number of casualties had risen to six.

Updated at 18:19. According to the head of the OVA, the enemy hit residential areas with two guided aerial bombs. 

“At the moment, we know of 13 dead and 18 wounded, at least four of whom are in serious condition,” he said in a video message.

Fedorov noted that by morning they plan to restore traffic on the street where the “invasions” took place, since it is one of the central streets in the Shevchenkivskyi district, and to clear away the rubble that formed after the enemy shelling.

According to him, January 9 has been declared a Day of Mourning in the Zaporizhia region.

It also became known that among the wounded is a 13-year-old girl. She is in hospital. Doctors assess the child’s condition as moderate.

Updated at 17:45. According to the OVA, the number of people killed as a result of the enemy strike on Zaporizhia has increased to 13.

According to information from the secretary of the Zaporizhia City Council, Regina Kharchenko, 18 people were injured. 

The National Police stated that the Russians attacked the city with aerial bombs. 

Updated at 17:00. According to the head of the administration, 30 victims of the enemy attack were taken to hospitals in the regional center.

Seven medical teams, police and rescue workers are working at the site of the impact.
