On the night of February 9, the occupation army launched a massive drone strike on Odessa , hitting a multi-story residential complex and claiming a fatality.

According to a UNIAN correspondent, an air raid alert was issued around midnight due to a large number of drones approaching the Odesa region from the Black Sea. Soon after, powerful explosions and gunfire erupted in the regional capital. Monitoring channels reported that “Shahed” drones were being spotted in various parts of the city, and drones could be heard flying over residential buildings.

Subsequently, the head of the Odessa city administration, Sergei Lysak, stated that due to another enemy attack, residential buildings and communications were damaged.

“In particular, a fire broke out on the roof of a multi-story building, a gas pipeline was damaged, and fires were also recorded in cars and a non-residential building,” the official reported.

He then reported that a fatality had been identified. Specifically, according to updated information, a 35-year-old man had died and two people, including a 19-year-old woman, were injured.

According to Lysak, damage to civilian infrastructure has been recorded in the city’s Primorsky District. Preliminary reports indicate that at least 21 apartments in residential buildings were damaged, with the blast wave shattering 39 windows in apartments and 18 in common areas. Two cars were destroyed by fire, and six more were damaged by debris.

Utility services have been clearing up the aftermath since last night, covering windows with film and cleaning the area. A task force has been set up, where Odessa residents can apply for compensation under the state “Restoration” program and financial assistance from the city budget.

According to the regional headquarters of the State Emergency Service, damage was caused to the roof and equipment on a 24-story residential building, a fitness club, and the windows of nearby buildings. Damage was also reported to an unoccupied three-story building at another address.
