Russia Strengthens Troops Near Finland, Building Military Infrastructure – NYT

Russian troops are strengthening bases and building military infrastructure near the Finnish border.

This is stated in the material of The New York Times, reports Censor.NET .

Satellite photos show a row of tents, new warehouses for storing military equipment, and shelters for fighter jets.

Finland predicts that if the high-intensity phase of the war in Ukraine ends, Russia will redeploy thousands of troops to the Finnish border .

Analysts believe that Russia is expanding its brigades to division level, which could mean an increase in the number of troops in the region by thousands.

Military analysts predict that the north could become a new hot spot.

“American and Finnish troops recently conducted complex Arctic military exercises in the region, during which hundreds of soldiers ran through forests and Finns raced between trees on skis. Likely enemy? Russia,” the publication writes.

The Finns believe they have about five years before Russia can build up its military to a threatening level. But they are confident that it will happen, and that the number of Russian troops facing them will triple.

“It will be a much higher number of troops,” said Brigadier General Pekka Turunen, director of Finnish Defense Intelligence. Джерело: https://censor.net/ua/n3552988

  1. An empty site is no threat to anyone. Tents hardly confirm a permanent base for troops, in a region where temperatures fall well below zero.

    • It’s all smoke and mirrors. Every available cockroach is in Ukraine, getting blown off scooters and bikes.
