Russia in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk Oblast announced a new “strategy” to solve water supply problems – to wait for precipitation in the fall and winter.

According to the Central Water Resources Administration, only 15% of the reserves remain in the Starokrym reservoir, which supplies water to the Donetsk region: instead of 45 million tons, about 7 million tons are currently stored. In addition, nine more reservoirs have become shallower, and wells and boreholes are drying up.

“The Kremlin proves once again: TOT residents are doomed to survival while Moscow is only concerned with the export of resources and propaganda images,” the report says.

The center emphasized that overcoming the water supply crisis is possible only after the de-occupation of the region.
