Journalists from ” Militarny ” believe that such a radical decision is probably due to the shortage of motor transport and unmanned ground platforms:

“It remains unclear how the Russians plan to use these slow animals, which do not tolerate humid climates well and require constant care and adequate nutrition.”

Military expert Mikhail Zhirokhov expressed the opinion on air of ” Radio NV ” that the use of donkeys may be a local initiative. He believes that there may be a person in these units who knows how to handle these animals

“He had such a crazy idea and the top commanders handed over this transport. If we are talking about returning to the tactics of the First and Second World Wars, then why not? This is a simple and reliable means of transportation. Especially since the equipment cannot be used now, given the weather conditions.
