This winter , Russia is preparing for a decisive energy strike against all Europeans.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in an evening video message .

“These days, Russia is trying to further increase energy pressure on Europe – the Nord Stream gas pipeline has completely stopped. Why are they doing this? Russia wants to destroy the normal life of every European – in all countries of our continent. It wants to weaken and intimidate all of Europe, every state,” the president said.

Where Russia cannot do it with conventional weapons, he says, it does so with energy weapons and tries to strike with poverty and political chaos where it cannot yet strike with missiles.

According to Zelensky, in order to protect against this, everyone in Europe needs even more unity, coordination and assistance to each other.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on August 31, Gazprom suspended gas supplies to Europe via the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline.

As Gazprom warned , the shutdown of gas supply will last from August 31 to September 2 due to alleged maintenance.

However, on September 2, the Russian Gazprom announced a complete shutdown of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. The company explained this step allegedly by malfunctions in the system.
