Russia not invading Ukraine and has no such plans – Russian ambassador

Russia has no plans of any “invasion” of Ukraine and is not implementing it now, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said in an interview with CBS.

“There are no such plans,” he said.

“The leadership of our country has repeatedly declared and continues to declare its readiness to continue solving outstanding problems through diplomacy. <…> Every state has the right to protect its territory and borders. The Russian Federation, the United States, or any other country is no exception. Russian troops are on our sovereign territory. We don’t threaten anyone. Why do other countries try to dictate to us where can we deploy our troops and how many. I would like to emphasize once again that this is our own territory. Can one even imagine that Russia will demand the U.S. not to deploy its troops in Alaska or Florida? I am sure that such a requirement would be unacceptable for the United States.,” he said.

The interview was aired on CBS on Sunday. The transcript released later demonstrated that the TV company has abridged Antonov’s answers. The interview was not aired live.

The West and Kiev have recently been echoing allegations about Russia’s potential invasion of Ukraine. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov castigated these claims as “empty and unfounded”, serving as a ploy to escalate tensions, pointing out that Russia did not pose any threat whatsoever to anyone. However, Peskov did not rule out the possibility of provocations aimed at justifying such claims and warned that attempts to use military force to resolve the crisis in southeastern Ukraine would have serious consequences.

  1. If Russia really had no such plans they would have expressed outrage from day one. They did not. I believe this fucker as much as i would Goebbels!

  2. Nevertheless, if Russia wants to enter negotiations, now is the perfect time. Even if Zelensky refuses to make concessions, his successor may be open to it. Therefore never put innocent lives at risk, it will backfire.

  3. Putin’s minions protest loud and long, but what has been seen on the ground makes Putin and his minions liars. He has been troops to jump off points and some of the artillery mobilized to the border north of Kharkiv is a multi-tube missile launchers and meant to be used by thermobaric warheads.

You may recall that some of the men that fought at the Donesk airport accused Russian troops of using such weapons. Back then, that was a secret and, of course, Russia denied it. They have now openly moved them.

  4. “Russia not invading Ukraine and has no such plans – Russian ambassador”

Announcing this repeatedly and openly is good for one thing; it will give mafia land a reason to pull away its troops IF it decides not to invade. To invade is up until now still very much on the table (pun intended – the rat’s XXXXL table)
