On the night of April 29, the Russian army launched a massive strike on the south of the Odessa region – destruction and numerous fires occurred, in particular in the Izmail district, where a hospital, residential buildings, port infrastructure, etc. were significantly damaged. This became known from official statements by officials and law enforcement officers.

“A difficult night for the south of the Odessa region. As a result of a massive enemy attack, the hospital and residential buildings suffered significant damage, and a fire broke out in the reserve. Unfortunately, two people were injured: a man and a woman who was hospitalized with multiple shrapnel wounds, her condition is assessed by doctors as serious,” emphasized the head of the Odessa OVA, Oleg Kiper.

According to him, the district hospital was damaged as a result of the strike UAV. The admission department was completely destroyed. The therapeutic, cardiological and surgical departments, as well as ultrasound, X-ray and other rooms, suffered significant damage. Fortunately, there were no casualties – at the time of the attack, medical staff and patients were in shelter. Currently, the patients have been transferred to another department.

A fire was also recorded on the territory of the Danube Biosphere Reserve. The relevant services are currently working at the scene. Work is underway to eliminate the consequences.

According to the press service of the regional department of the State Emergency Service, the attack resulted in numerous fires – in residential buildings, outbuildings, garages, and a hospital. At the same time, a truck was damaged, and the facade and glazing of a multi-story residential building were damaged, without further ignition.

“As a result of fires in the residential sector, 2 people were injured… Due to falling debris, reed fires occurred in the territory of the Danube Biosphere Reserve,” the report says.

In total, more than fifty firefighters and 13 pieces of equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of the attack.

According to the press service of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office, at night the Russian armed forces massively attacked port and civilian infrastructure facilities and a residential area of the Odessa region with strike drones. At least 6 private homes were partially destroyed. Two civilians – a 46-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman – were taken to the hospital. Under the procedural guidance of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation into the facts of war crimes has been initiated (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The head of the Izmail district state administration, Rodion Abashev, also announced the attack – the enemy carried out an attack on the territory of the Izmail district. According to the official, infrastructure facilities in the city of Izmail were hit, where damage was recorded, in particular, a health care facility building was damaged.
