On Thursday, March 27, the Russian occupation army launched a massive attack on the center of Kherson – residential buildings and a railway station. According to local authorities, two people were killed and many were injured.

According to the head of the Kherson OVA, Oleksandr Prokudin, the Russians shelled the central part of Kherson during the day. According to him, the “arrivals” destroyed the railway station building and apartment buildings. 

“These blows ended the lives of two people. Among the wounded are two medics who were helping the victim,” the official said.

He also released a video showing the aftermath of the horrific impact, including shattered apartment buildings.

The head of the Kherson MVA, Roman Mrochko, reported that a 56-year-old man was taken to the hospital with a mine-explosive injury.

“A 55-year-old woman received a non-life-threatening blast injury as a result of shelling of the city center,” he specified.

A 59-year-old man was also taken to hospital in serious condition with a concussion, blast injury and shrapnel wound to the abdomen. In addition, the emergency team that arrived at the scene of the attack to provide medical assistance to the victim was injured: a 33-year-old paramedic and a 63-year-old ambulance driver are currently in hospital with a concussion and blast injury.

Later, information appeared that the number of injured had increased to 5 – a 42-year-old man required medical attention.

Mrochko added that as a result of the massive shelling, power supply in Kherson was partially disrupted. As a result, trolleybus traffic in the city was temporarily suspended.

An employee of the Kherson OVA was also injured – a 39-year-old videographer sought medical help, he had an explosive injury.

Previously, two people were killed and five injured.

A train came under fire

According to Ukrzaliznytsia , Russian terrorists struck the Kherson railway station and surrounding infrastructure. As a result, a car of train No. 110 Kherson – Lviv was damaged, causing the train to depart with a delay of one and a half hours.

It is noted that the railway workers and passengers were not injured because they were in shelter. The damaged car at the nearest stations is promised to be replaced with a reserve one.

“According to preliminary information, windows in the station building have been broken, and there is damage to power and water supply cables. We are continuing to move, despite attempts to stop the railway,” Ukrzaliznytsia emphasized.
