The Ukrainian Navy considers it stupid for Russia to involve marines as regular infantry, as happened in the battles for Ukrainian Ugledar , where many of them died. In particular, taking into account the seriously wounded, killed and missing, the 155th and 40th Marine Brigades alone could have lost more than 2,100 people near Ugledar.

“For them (the Russians – UNIAN), using elite units, and the Marines in any case are a unit that is trained a little better, more than the regular infantry in the Russian Federation – this is a constant practice. The same Airborne Forces and so on are often used in the field as regular infantry. There are even more elite units that they use this way…, starting in 2014,” said the representative of the Ukrainian Navy, Dmitry Pletenchuk, on air at Espreso.

For example, the Russian military command also sent elite special forces units to storm the Donetsk airport, and they died there.

“These units are designed for other things, using them as regular motorized units is like “hammering nails with a microscope”, but the needs must be met immediately. That’s why they are forced to do this,” Pletenchuk explained.

He added that some analysts have already calculated that for every 2.5 square meters of captured Ukrainian territory, there has been one dead Russian in recent times. That is, if you take a map showing the occupied territory, this, as Pletechuk noted, is a large cemetery.

“This is a war to exhaust human resources, and Russia can still afford it. But don’t think that it is endless… They also have personnel problems, and there are not so many people willing to die. But it is surprising how they waste their human potential. When, in order to dig one trench, four people are needed, because only the fourth one manages to dig in, and the three previous ones remain there forever,” the speaker said.

He added that the Kremlin authorities act according to the principle “women will give birth to more children,” that is, they do not take care of their own citizens at all.
