More than 600,000 Ukrainians remain without electricity, and the situation may worsen.

Due to Russian attacks, some customers in Kyiv and the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernihiv regions were left without power, according to Artem Nekrasov, First Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine .

“This night and morning, Russia launched a massive missile and drone strike on energy infrastructure. Power plants, transmission and distribution systems in Kyiv, Kyiv Oblast, and Kharkiv Oblast were hit,” he wrote, adding that repair crews had already begun restoring power.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy , Russia used 39 ballistic missiles and more than 120 attack drones and walking munitions against Ukrainian energy and critical infrastructure overnight.

“At least 600,000 people are currently without power, unfortunately. Larger outages are possible,” the Ukrainian president wrote.

According to Ukrenergo , to prevent overloading of equipment damaged by Russian shelling, power reduction schedules for industry and hourly power outages for all categories of consumers will be in effect in some regions until the end of the day. These restrictions may cover up to two outage stages (meaning outages lasting up to eight hours).

Ukrenergo added that electricity consumption levels are in line with seasonal indicators. As of 9:30 AM on October 14, they remained at the same level as the previous day, October 13.

Current outage schedules can be found on the official websites of distribution system operators. Consumers are advised to follow updates on the website or pages of their regional power company.
