Russian occupiers launched a strike with a Shahed drone against a Ukrzaliznytsia repair team that was restoring a damaged infrastructure facility in the Donetsk region. The attack killed one worker and injured two more railway workers.

As Censor.NET reports , citing Oleksandr Pertsovsky, Chairman of the Board of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, the attack occurred while the employees were performing their official duties.

According to Pertsovsky, after the dispatchers notified them of the critical danger, most of the repair crew managed to evacuate. However, one of the track fitters sustained life-threatening injuries during the explosion.

Two more employees of ” Ukrzaliznytsia ” received shrapnel wounds. They are receiving necessary medical care.

Ukrzaliznytsia is investigating all the circumstances of the tragedy, including what exactly prevented the life of the deceased employee from being saved despite the warning of danger.

“Our maximum assistance and support to the relatives of the railway worker who died in the line of duty,” emphasized Oleksandr Pertsovsky.
