Websites of the Swiss government and several organizations were hit by cyber attacks on Thursday. The Swiss National Cyber Security Center BACS suspects that the attacks are related to the Ukraine peace conference taking place in Lucerne this weekend.
The affected organizations are all involved in the conference. The BACS says it had already expected the attacks. “Hacktivists” are more likely to use such cyberattacks to “spread political messages and attract attention,” the center says.
These are so-called DDoS attacks. This puts a heavy burden on a website, making it difficult to access or no longer accessible at all. This led to minor disruptions on Thursday morning. The security of data and systems has not been compromised.
This development was reflected in yesterday’s body count, too, which shows “only” 980 RuSSian casualties, a quite normal number, untypical for an ongoing offensive. So, “try and error” on the RuSSian side, huh? The Kharkiv offensive didn’t work out, now onward to a new hotspot? How more obvious can the incompetence of the high command be, really?
