Russia has announced an attempt to break through the border in the Bryansk region . A “Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group” allegedly operated there, numbering as many as 200 fighters.

“A Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group attempted to penetrate the territory of the Klimovsky district of the Bryansk region, but was defeated and forced to retreat. During the battle, the breakthrough attempt was thwarted by the forces of the Russian FSB command post and units of the Russian Armed Forces,” the SHOT Telegram channel writes .

It is noted that this “sabotage and reconnaissance group” allegedly numbered about 200 Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters.

“The movement of the enemy group near the border was detected at about 7 p.m. After that, it was hit by fire, and the Ukrainian troops were forced to retreat with losses. At present, the situation at the site of the clash has been stabilized and is under the control of the regional Operational Headquarters,” the statement said.

The “sabotage and reconnaissance group attack” was also confirmed by the Governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz.

Meanwhile, the Mash Telegram channel claimed that the Ukrainian military were armed with “NATO rifles.”

“Three Ukrainian Armed Forces infantry fighting vehicles and saboteurs were spotted near the border at approximately 19:10. They were armed with NATO rifles like the Czech Bren-2. After half an hour of fighting (until 19:40), the enemy retreated with serious losses. By 20:30, the second wave of the attack with reinforcements began – again unsuccessfully. Around 21:00, the sabotage and reconnaissance group retreated,” the report says .

It is noted that the entrance to the Klimovsky district of the Bryansk region is currently blocked by checkpoints.
