On Monday, May 11, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia is showing no intention of ending the war and is preparing for new attacks. Ukraine is recording continued hostilities on the front and at the same time is strengthening international defense cooperation, in particular with the United States, Canada and European partners.
During the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters, the main topic was strengthening defense against Russian air bombs. The president announced this in an evening address.
This concerns both Ukraine’s long-range capabilities and the creation of its own analogues of relevant weapons and the scaling of technological solutions to counter Russian aviation.
Separately, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the development of international cooperation in the security sector. 20 states are already working with Ukraine in the Drone Deals format, and new political agreements will soon be signed with some partners. Preparations for a corresponding agreement with Canada are also underway.
“It is the Russian war that has a global impact on technological changes – on the harsh development of the technology of war itself. Because of this Russian aggression, murders have become more widespread and threats have become more dangerous, especially everything related to drones. Many partners understand this… 20 states are already working with Ukraine at various levels so that we have Drone Deals with them. There are already political agreements with some countries, and there will be manufacturer contracts, and our military expertise is already giving results. We will soon sign political agreements with some countries,” Zelenskyy said.
The president also reported on the visit to Ukraine of German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius. The parties discussed the joint production of drones, strengthening air defense, and support for Ukraine’s energy sector.
Drone Deals is a format of security cooperation between Ukraine and partner states, which involves political agreements, contracts between manufacturers, and joint development of technologies in the field of drones and the defense industry.
