The head of the Russian delegation at the talks in Istanbul, assistant to the president of the occupying country, Vladimir Medinsky, said that Russia is not against Ukraine’s entry into the EU.

He stated this after the talks on March 29, writes the propagandistic “RIA-Novosti”.

“For its part, the Russian Federation does not object to Ukraine’s aspirations to join the European Union,” Medinsky said.

He also noted that Ukraine’s proposals regarding security guarantees do not apply to the territory of Crimea and Donbass. However, the Russian Federation is confident that Ukraine should abandon its desire to return these territories by military means.

Earlier, diplomat Oleksandr Chaly, who heads the legal team in the Ukrainian delegation at the talks with the Russian Federation, said that the Treaty on Security Guarantees would have no objections regarding the possibility of Ukraine joining the European Union.

“It is fundamentally important, and this is also one of our most principled positions, that nothing in the future agreement will object to Ukraine’s right to join the European Union, and secondly, the guarantor countries undertake to facilitate these processes,” Chaly said.

  1. Well isn’t that really nice of them to give Ukraine permission. Fuck you Russia snd the horse you rode in on

  2. Given the performance of the so called Russian Army, return of Crimea and the Donbas is within reach of Ukraine. Part of being a sovereign country is the ability to decide whose club you apply to join. Ukraine does not need the permission of the Putinazi regime to do anything.
